The Froot are a band who’s influences are unashamedly cemented in late 60′s prog rock (the clue is in the name!) despite the fact they’re barely out of school. That’s right, this serious looking bunch of hairy hippies are still teenagers.. which for us makes this even more cool. The Froot play the late sixties-style psychedelic and progressive rock and vow to take you to a time that seems almost extinct in today's society; to a time that music is a way of life.

The single was produced by Colin Lloyd-Tucker (The The) who is now working on The Froot’s debut album. ‘Midnight Girl’ will be released along with B-Side ‘7 Past 8’ on Friday 2nd June on all digital platforms.

Speaking about the single Louie said: “The song 'Midnight Girl' is about the coming together of two minds, to defeat the feeling of lust and disenchanted thoughts that everyone can relate to.”

This is just too good to be true. as Mr. Rote aptly states, it does have a 90s vibe here and there, like Nirvana on mellower drugs, or a soft Mudhoney, or a new! improved! Soul Asylum.. but above all it truly resembles great 60s psych, or proto-prog, even. kinda like Morgen meets Fever Tree, by way of Country Joe and late Beatles, but weirder, like krautrock or early Alice Cooper or Floyd...or something! guess i'll have to fill up my bong right now..is there really no vinyl version? How lucky of me to find this band, and what a shame it took them 8 albums for me to find them. In particular, I love the swagger/frivolity of their playing. Also the delicacy of the guitarist on some tracks (reminds of Stone Rebel at times) Fav track: I am the beyonder ooijerm
